Airport Roadway Restrictions

This page will be continuously updated to include information on current Sky Harbor related roadway restrictions.

State Route 143 Closure
If you're driving to the Airport from Tucson, Ahwatukee, Chandler or Tempe this weekend, you should be aware that State Route 143 will be closed between I-10 and McDowell Road from 10 p.m. Friday March 12 to 5 p.m. Saturday March 13. You may either use I-10 to enter the Airport from the west or use loop 202 to enter the Airport from the east. Click here for more information about this and/or other roadway restrictions statewide.

Overnight Closures of Portion of Westbound Sky Harbor Blvd. in March
A portion of westbound Sky Harbor Boulevard will be closed overnight starting Friday, March 12 through the night of Wednesday, March 16. Drivers headed westbound on Sky Harbor Boulevard will be detoured just east of Terminal 4. Drivers will still be able to access all three terminals as well as all parking garages and lots during this time. Drivers are reminded to watch for signs and obey posted speed limits. This closure is needed for on-going construction of the PHX Sky Train and is being done overnight to impact as few drivers as possible.

44th Street Ramp Construction Project
The ramp from southbound 44th Street to westbound Sky Harbor Boulevard is under construction and drivers need to follow a detour. Access from 44th Street to Sky Harbor Boulevard remains, but drivers are encouraged to slow down and watch for signs. This project will run through May 1. To avoid construction delays use freeways to enter and exit the Airport.
